About Me
I’m Karla Levy, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), passionate about helping individuals navigate anxiety, addictions, trauma, relationship differences, phobias, decision-making, life changes, and the emotional toll of legal and systemic stress. I aim to help you move from feeling like you’re just getting by to experiencing clarity and building the life you want. My practice is grounded in evidence-based approaches and informed by clinical training and a background in neuroscience and human anatomy. I also bring years of experience working in the Ontario court system, where I witnessed systemic gaps firsthand. My path to psychotherapy was shaped by my deep empathy for others and a strong desire to offer meaningful support. I’ve worked in emotionally charged, high-pressure environments where I regularly supported those in distress, often caught in cycles of trauma and systemic harm. I knew I wanted to be there to help beyond just moments of crisis; and now I am committed to walking alongside folks on their healing journey.

My therapy practice is structured yet warm, open, relational, and spiritually guided. I integrate modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy. At the core of my work a deep interest in how the brain and nervous system respond to life events, alongside the understanding that our desire for meaning and connection shapes our physical, psychological, and emotional functioning. Together, we find an approach that best suits your needs, so we can begin exploring how past experiences shape present patterns while harnessing the brain’s remarkable capacity for change. As a result, you will build new pathways rooted in safety and resilience.

In my personal life, I love spending time with my husband, our two dogs, our pet snake, and our parrot. You’ll find me outside gardening, hiking trails, and swimming when the weather allows. Indoors, I’m cooking and hosting meals, and working through my to-be-read pile of books. I cherish the time I spend in community as a volunteer, showing up and contributing in ways that reflect care, respect, and responsibility. Alongside this, I seek out moments of stillness from the pace of modern life that bring calm and quiet in the grounding presence of nature.

With deep gratitude I acknowledge that this practice operates on the traditional territories of the Attiwonderonk (Neutral) and Haudenosaunee peoples, and the treaty lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation.
The stories, systems, and injustices of the past continue to shape our communities and ways of relating today.
In my work, I seek to hold awareness of the ongoing impacts of colonization, land dispossession, assimilation, and racial injustice, while approaching healing with humility, care, and respect.
