15 things you probably didn't know about me!
We have the same last name, are we related?!
I still can’t believe that this question came up on Snapchat, too funny! It is not possible for us to be related, at least not by blood. I don’t have a single relative in the world with the last name Schaus because it really isn’t the ‘actual’ last name of our family. My grandfather was adopted so he took on his adopted parents’ last name. Confusing I know. Keeping the last name Schaus has made life a lot simpler!
Do you have any tattoos?
This question came up a lot on Snapchat! Nope, I don’t have any tattoos.
What’s something crazy that has happened to you?
Well, when I was 13 I was told that I had an allergy to all types of nuts. I later found out that it was a mix up, and I really wasn’t allergic at all. I didn’t eat nuts for three and a half years. When I reintroduced peanut butter I was super scared that I might have a reaction. Now it’s back to being one of my favourite foods of all time!
Will you ever go back to dark hair?
Not in the immediate future, I’m enjoying lighter hair for the time being!
What's one dumb thing that you did as a kid?
I could write a book about all of the dumb things that I did as a kid...When I was in the 5th grade I cinched the ends of my jeans tight with rubber bands and then filled my pants with sand. My grandmother has photo evidence of this!
Do you have any phobias?
Two. 1. I’m very paranoid about germs. 2. The only other phobia that I have is submechanophobia, which is the only explanation that I have for my fear of sunken ships.
What’s the last show that you watched on TV?
Parts Unknown, my all-time fav.
What’s the next place you want to visit?
New York City.
What’s your Zodiac sign? Do you read your horoscope?
I’m a Libra. I sometimes read my horoscope but it certainly isn’t a priority.
Would/have you ever consider living abroad?
I’ve always liked the idea of living in England for a month or two. I don’t think I could ever permanently relocate though, I love Canada too much!

What are you planting in your garden?
This year I’m planting some low-maintenance veggies (I’m not consistently there to water as needed)! My mom and I are going to plant acorn squash, spaghetti squash, peas, and yellow beans. I’ve also started a bunch of herbs from seeds in cute little pots, so I’m waiting on those to sprout.
Are you a morning person or a night owl?
Both, I’m always running on little sleep but I like it that way, tbh!
What was the last thing that you laughed about?
My sister and I played hide and seek with our dogs, they loved it and got so excited when they’d find one another!
Why is your Snapchat name karla_it?
I’ve had Snapchat for a few years now, and unfortunately I can’t change my name. Karla_IT used to be my Instagram handle back in 2011! ‘IT’ is the country code for Italy.
